Who Are Agratas?

Established in July 2023, Agratas is a leading company in battery innovation and sustainability, wholly owned by Tata Sons. Rapidly expanding, the small current team is expected to grow to thousands globally by 2029.

Headquartered in Coventry at Warwick University, Agratas is in the final stages of due diligence for a £4 billion investment into a 40GWh UK Gigafactory. The company focuses on sustainability credentials and the development of next-generation battery technologies.



Targeting the mobility and energy storage sectors, Agratas has key partnerships with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Motors. The company's culture is described as a scale-up with a startup mindset, fostering curiosity, challenge, authenticity, care, and urgency.

Funding

Tata Group have invested £4bn into the new UK Gigafactory. They already have confirmed agreements with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Motors Ltd (TML) and an ambition to supply a wide range of global customers


Location:

Agratas currently has a Midlands-based Technical Centre at Warwick University. The plan is to scale up over the coming months and eventually move all operations and manufacturing into a regional gigafactory that will be located in Somerset.


Employee Benefits

Contracted Hours – 40 Hours per week

Annual Leave – 25 Days + Public Bank Holidays

Sick Pay – Sick Pay available for up to 13 weeks

  • 1st year (of employment) - 50% of eligibility
  • 2nd year (of employment) - 100% of eligibility

Family Leave –

  • Maternity: 100% of salary for the first 10 weeks, 50% for the next 20 weeks, and SMP for the next 12 weeks
  • Paternity: 100% of salary for 4 weeks
  • Shared Parental Leave: 12 weeks @ 100% pay

Medical Insurance – Full private medical cover through BUPA (individual cover)

Income Protection – 75% of salary for 5 years

Pension – 5% Matched contribution (elevated to 6% matched after 3 years)
