Vertical Aerospace is a pioneering aviation company dedicated to revolutionising urban air mobility with cutting-edge electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Founded with a vision for sustainable air travel, Vertical is at the forefront of designing and commercialising the VX4, a fully electric aircraft set to transform transportation. Creating a quieter, faster, more sustainable way to travel between urban destinations.



Company size

As of January 2025, Vertical Aerospace had more than 400 employees (a 15% growth from January 2024)

Location

Vertical Aerospace has 4 UK sites with the headquarters being located in Bristol, a vibrant city with a strong engineering and aerospace heritage. Bristol provides excellent transport links and a thriving cultural scene, making it an attractive location for professionals in the aerospace and technology industries.

So what's going on where?

  • Bristol - Home to Vertical Aerospace’s engineering teams, driving the development and certification of the VX4 aircraft. This site hosts specialists in airworthiness, flight systems, dynamics, and simulation, advancing prototype aircraft design.
  • Avonmouth - Based on the outskirts of Bristol, The Vertical Energy Centre (VEC) in Avonmouth is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to energy storage and powertrain development. A team of over 80 experts focuses on battery design, testing, and manufacturing for the VX4 aircraft.
  • Kemble - Located at Cotswold Airfield (just to the North-East of Bristol), the Kemble site houses Vertical Aerospace’s flight test team. Test pilots and engineers conduct critical safety and certification tests on structural components, digital controls, and systems.
  • London - Vertical Aerospace’s London office serves as the headquarters for leadership, technology, commercial, finance, and legal teams. This hub drives the company’s mission to develop sustainable and accessible aerial mobility solutions.
