Founded in September 2016, McMurtry Automotive invents, engineers and develops electric vehicles to challenge conventions surrounding the automotive industry.
McMurtry attempts to see beyond the trends of today and into a future where cars can be compatible with the planet and where the pleasure of driving is uncompromised.
Pictured above, the McMurtry Speirling was introduced in 2021 at the Goodwood festival of speed. The electric car was an experimental vehicle designed to showcase the potential of electric cars. Although the record-breaking McMurtry Speirling was not designed for the street, McMurtry plans to produce a street-legal version consisting of 100 units, called Spéirling PURE. Deliveries of this vehicle are expected to commence by the end of 2025.
Probably one of the most unique aspects of McMurtry is the team and the culture. Unrestrained by large OEM culture and bureaucracy, the McMurtry team are a collection of passionate, enthusiastic and like-minded engineers and professionals with clear objectives. Together they are literally re-writing the rulebook on not only what is possible but also how quickly they can achieve it. It’s a place for engineers to do groundbreaking engineering without limits… The Goodwood Festival of Speed record has literally put them ahead of the rest of the world. At EVera we don’t know of another working environment quite like this.
The Spéirling features a unique fan-powered downforce system, generating over 2,000kg of downforce (more than double the car's weight). This technology enables exceptional cornering capabilities and a 0-60mph acceleration time of just 1.4 seconds.
McMurtry Automotive collaborates with battery specialists to develop high-performance battery systems. These partnerships focus on enhancing battery energy density and thermal management, contributing to the Spéirling's outstanding performance.
McMurtry Automotive targets automotive enthusiasts and collectors seeking cutting-edge electric performance vehicles. The Spéirling PURE is designed for track use, appealing to customers interested in exclusive, high-performance electric cars.
"Our mission is to make the Worlds greatest small cars for the road and track."
