Chief Electrical Engineer

On behalf of our client, we are currently looking for a Chief Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will manage and oversee all electrical elements of the projects.

The Chief Electrical Engineer will:

• Guide testing requirements and develop testing plans and procedures
• Promote the electrical requirements to the wider business and manage integration into the vehicle
• Define and implement new virtual capabilities for early phase programmes and company business plan
• Support the demonstration and implementation of new technologies and methodologies
• Offer technical advice from concept through to commissioning/validation stages of a project
• Motivate and inspire the team while providing leadership when required
• Authorize holidays and overtime within set limits
• Assist in the recruitment of new team members and completing appraisals

The Chief Electrical Engineer will have:

• Electrical and engineering experience with a hands-on approach
• A minimum of 10 years of automotive electrical engineering background
• Experience within HV/LV electrification and desirable battery work
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of Chassis, Powertrain and Electronics and their interactions
• Solid knowledge of DFM and DFA
• Strong people management skills
