A pioneering and globally recognized clean energy technology company that are delivering compact and cost-effective energy solutions for sustaining the planet are currently looking to employ a Chief Quality Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing quality strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, optimizing production quality levels and supporting operational excellence and will work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, manufacturing, and customers regarding technical support of their activities.


The Chief Quality Engineer will:

  • Implement quality strategies and processes to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets and which will enable the company to function and compete effectively in the market and in a sustained manner.
  • Develop the appropriate organisational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverable.
  • In charge of the annual Quality budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. Communicate with stakeholders the impact of technology change and potential effects on supply. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost.
  • Inspire and motivate the team, manage performance firmly, fairly and in a supportive manner and show moral courage and honesty.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
  • Develop improvement and communication protocol within all systems and processes across the business.
  • Review all new potential business for feasibility and profitability, and any SDS (System Design Specification) project management milestone reviews to ensure successful on quality, cost, and timing.
  • Actively lead the reduction of Customer PPMs (Parts Per Million), Warranty, Cost of Quality and in-house scrap, and waste.

 

The Chief Head of Quality will have:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results orientated, ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines with a technical mind-set.
  • Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant commercial or engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
  • Experience in project management, quality experience and with a great knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Considerable and diverse demonstrable experience of leading a quality function with a proven track record in strategic quality leadership delivering effective quality strategies, policies, processes, and systems.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
