A global technology company specialising in low-carbon vehicle engineering and technology are seeking a Principal Vehicle Systems Integration and Test Engineer to join their team! The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the design and development process. The role of a Principal Vehicle Systems Integration and Test Engineer will include planning and delivering activities on the right-hand side of the engineering V Cycle, integration and testing at system and sub-system levels, working on varied projects, and using various test assets, such as HiL rigs and prototype vehicles. The person will also play an important role in supporting and mentoring junior engineers with running the test campaigns, producing, and reviewing test plans and reports and conducting tests when required.


The Principal Vehicle Systems Integration and Test Engineer will:

  • Support requirement elicitation to ensure testability
  • Perform and assist in the development of DVPs, Test plans and Test cases
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure that component and sub-system tests are carried out to the required standard
  • Support development and commissioning of test assets
  • Manage, maintain, and release correct testing documentation in line with company processes and standards
  • Ensure all testing tasks are delivered in line with the project milestones
  • Perform or support testing activities

The Principal Vehicle Systems Integration and Test Engineer will have:

  • A degree or similar qualification in an engineering discipline, ideally control system, electric or electronic
  • Relevant experience of system design and/or electrical/electronic engineering disciplines
  • Previously performed tests on a variety of test equipment such as HiL rigs, vehicles, etc.
  • Good understanding of engineering, physics, and applied mathematics
  • Proven experience of diagnostic and fault injection tools such as PEAKCAN, Vector tool suite and relevant experience with system engineering processes, ideally MBSE
  • Act as a team player, be motivated, determined, and creative
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems and take on extra responsibilities while achieving company goals and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential in this role
