Low Voltage Battery Engineer

From battery diagnostics and fault-finding through to maintenance and safe processing, this role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of lithium-ion battery technologies across both facility-based and customer-facing operations. The Low Voltage Battery Engineer will provide hands-on engineering support for battery assessment, testing and technical investigations, helping to ensure battery systems are handled safely and efficiently throughout their lifecycle.

The Low Voltage Battery Engineer will:

• Test, inspect and diagnose lithium-ion batteries, modules and associated electrical systems.
• Carry out electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Support battery pack and module disassembly in line with safe working procedures.
• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on battery-related equipment.
• Assist with Battery Management System (BMS) diagnostics and assessments.
• Support customer projects, technical assessments and field-based engineering activities.
• Maintain accurate records of testing, repairs and technical work completed.

The Low Voltage Battery Engineer will have:

• Experience in an electrical, battery, automotive or engineering-focused role.
• Good understanding of low-voltage DC electrical systems and components.
• Experience using electrical test and diagnostic equipment.
• The ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, battery packs or energy storage systems.
• Awareness of electrical safety and isolation procedures.
