We’re looking for an experienced Electronics Lead / Senior Buyer who thrives in complex, global supply chains and enjoys taking complete ownership of procurement activity. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep electronics knowledge with strong commercial judgement, supporting advanced engineering and manufacturing programmes within a fast‑paced automotive‑led environment.

The Electronics Lead / Senior Buyer will:

• Lead the procurement of electronic components and systems across multi‑tier, global supply chains.
• Manage sourcing activities with both manufacturers and international distributors to ensure availability and resilience.
• Develop and maintain high‑value supplier relationships across Japan, USA, UK, and Europe.
• Drive commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and long‑term cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Manage complex buying patterns including long lead‑time, constrained, or allocated components, ensuring continuity of supply.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and programme teams to align sourcing activities to technical and production requirements.

The Electronics Lead / Senior Buyer will have:

• Proven experience in a Lead Buyer or Senior Buyer role with a strong focus on electronics procurement.
• Understanding of global electronics supply chains, including markets in Asia (Japan), USA, and the UK.
• Automotive experience, preferably within high‑volume or technically demanding engineering programmes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and review CAD, supporting effective technical discussions with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Hands‑on experience buying electronic components from both manufacturers and distributors.
• Commercial strength, with strong negotiation skills and demonstrable cost‑control, cost‑down, and value‑engineering achievements.
