Engineering Director

Our client, a leader of in-wheel motors for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and future transport solution are currently looking for an Engineering Director. The successful candidate will manage and oversee the Engineering Functions that will produce designs that meet all customer, industrial, legal and company requirements.

The Engineering Director will:

• Provide technical leadership in all areas of in-wheel motor and inverter technology.
• Manage the intellectual property portfolio of over 320 active patents and support the company in pro-actively identifying areas of future patent protection.
• Support the organisation in developing and managing systems and procedures to drive Product Development excellence.
• Guide the functional management team and support it to deliver projects.
• Support project management in the scoping and resourcing of projects and provide an escalation route for inter-function conflict.

The Engineering Director will have:

• Degree in Engineering or another numerate subject.
• Experience within the Automotive sector (Product Development and/or Launch) in a start-up and growth-oriented business environment known for its excellence.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering a quality product to a demanding customer.
• Significant experience in automotive Tier 1 Product Engineering functions.
• Strong Communication skills with all levels, including external.
