Motion Control Software Manager

A world-renowned luxury automotive brand that has been crafting iconic, high-performance vehicles for over a century is currently seeking a Motion Control Software Manager. The successful candidate will manage the team responsible for the delivery of Software for the respective vehicle and Powertrain controllers.

The Motion Control Software Manager will:

• Build and lead a team of software engineers, including recruiting, coaching, and setting objectives.
• Lead design of control strategies and application software for Longitudinal and Lateral Dynamic Control, in collaboration with other teams and suppliers, managing interactions with other vehicle systems.
• Support the team with Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262 and Failure Mode Analysis as required.
• Ensure software deliverables are delivered in line with the system design specification.
• Lead full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code check, version control, configuration management, build processes and testing.

The Motion Control Software Manager will have:

• Degree level in Electrical / Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Membership of the IMechE, IET or similarly recognized international institution.
• Lengthy experience in software / systems engineering, requirements, and test cases definition for safety critical automotive systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle controllers, systems and / or features, e.g., chassis and / or EV powertrain and / or ADAS.
• Hands-on experience with the Mathworks toolchain (e.g., Matlab, Simulink, Embedded Coder,)
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Strong communication skills with experience working across multiple disciplines.
