Our client, a manufacturer and developer of flexible printed circuits for the fast-growing EV market is looking to hire a Quality Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping regulate, control and improve the quality of all products and processes throughout the business to ensure customer satisfaction, whilst assisting root cause closure of any NOK conditions identified both internally and externally.

 

The Quality Engineer will:

  • Provide hands-on production line support with simple problem-solving and implementation of containments.
  • Maintain the Customer Concern Log - raise and track customer concerns and complete action reports (8D, CCAR)
  • Assist Quality Manager during external audits - IATF16949, VDA 6.1 
  • Take a lead role in problem resolution, involving liaison with the Customer or Supplier, the Operations team and other support areas
  • Control and document any containment / re-inspection / counter-measure activity necessary as part of the 8D process
  • Assist in the creation of new part boundary samples when needed, in conjunction with APQP Quality Engineers
  • Actively help with training employees in all aspects of the quality system, application of quality processes and part quality standards
  • Conduct and report Product, Process and System Audits in line with Audit Schedule
  • Update quality related documents and communicate lessons learned and Care Points from quality concerns
  • Take an active part in cross-functional teams for FMEA, Feasibility and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Use available Quality Pareto Data to identify actions to drive reduced scrap levels from production processes
  • Analyse and summarise data and prepare quality related reports
  • Help to develop, implement, and report Quality KPIs and performance metrics

 

The Quality Engineer will have:

  • 5 + years’ experience as a Quality Engineer
  • Automotive background
  • Working knowledge of quality problem-solving tools and techniques
  • Automotive Quality Management System auditing experience – IATF 16949, VDA 6.1
  • Understanding of 8D and other problem resolution processes
  • Strong analytical skills
