Senior / Principal Development Engineer

We are looking for a Senior / Principal Development Engineer for our client, a supplier of premium electric powertrains. The successful candidate will develop and deliver powertrain systems that meet the agreed functional, cost, quality, and operational requirements and will manage all phases of technical projects, overseeing the products or projects conception, design, and initial product specifications.

The Senior / Principal Development Engineer will:

• Develop future technical innovation roadmaps and prove out concepts ready for main program implementation.
• Supervise and inspect the installations/ modifications and commissioning of mechanical systems at Client facilities.
• Support project management on delivery of contracted hardware and assist on reporting of hours logged and associated costs to accurately maintain project costings.
• Manage and coordinate a concern database.
• Create, issue, and maintain detailed project plans.
• Manage and coordinate supplier delivery of correct level hardware and software to match rig, vehicle and powerunit program expectations / requirements.

The Senior / Principal Development Engineer will have:

• Degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject.
• Knowledge of project delivery within a system engineering environment.
• Technical report writing and presentations skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
• Sound automotive engineering background.
• Proven track record of successfully assisting delivering projects.
