Software Manager

An Automotive company focusing on the design and build of prototype and low volume high energy density lithium battery packs is now looking for a Software Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will manage and lead a team of engineers delivering embedded, safety critical code for battery management system (and other automotive) applications in accordance with ISO26262.

The Software Manager will:

• Interface with customers to ensure requirements are captured and delivery programmes are aligned.
• Lead the recruitment of software engineers to grow and develop the team.
• Interface directly with related functions (systems, safety, requirements, electronics) to ensure product delivery and quality.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary software team to deliver ISO26262 compliant code for production vehicles.
• Take ownership of the development processes and procedures for software development.

The Software Manager will have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ demonstrable experience in a software management or team lead role, with a focus on safety critical product development.
• Familiarity with automotive standards for functional safety, such as ISO26262, IEC6150, IEC60730.
• Experience of planning, estimating, and defining engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with high voltage battery pack and battery management systems. (BMS)
• Ability to derive requirements for Battery pack/ BMS from customer product specifications.
• Organizational & leadership abilities.
• Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with cross-functional teams both internally and externally.
