A developer and manufacturer of electric motors and power electronics for aerospace applications is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer – BMS. The successful candidate will develop, introduce, and bring to life the manufacturing systems to meet the challenges of assembly and testing, involving new technology and high levels of automation.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer – BMS will:

  • Plan, develop and implement manufacturing facilities for battery assembly and testing that meets its targets for quality, cost, and performance.
  • Ensure robust process quality planning including build and assembly simulations, PFMEAs and control plans.
  • Evaluate suitability of manufacturing technologies and manufacturing systems, including industrial engineering activities such as cycle line layouts and ergonomic assessments.
  • Manage technical issues through to resolution, including management and/or customer reporting.
  • Ensure that all equipment is robust in design and meets targets agreed in respect to RFT, OPR, OEE, MTTF and MTTR
  • Lead the team in developing innovative areas of the manufacturing process that will enable the implementation of class leading product features.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer – BMS will have:

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering, science, or maths-based discipline.
  • Previous proven experience working in a process engineering role within a medium to high volume assembly business, either aerospace or automotive.
  • Good knowledge and experience of joining technologies including adhesives, laser welding and wire bonding.
  • Strong proficiency in key engineering disciplines including GD&T.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with an analytical approach to implementation.
  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office, CAD, and other simulation systems.
