Battery Systems Engineer

A UK based battery systems centre of excellence who are part of a global automotive OEM are looking to recruit a Battery Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will support electronics/software/design requirements for installation into vehicles and battery systems, also develop battery modules and battery packs.

The Battery Systems Engineer will:

• Support the development of automotive systems engineering for Battery Management systems and other EV applications.
• Assist with requirements capture, development, architecture design, and application software development.
• Support system calibration, commissioning, and integration test activities
• Support the development, build and test of prototype systems.
• Liaise with customers to capture requirements and provide systems level support and training.
• Work closely with the software, mechanical, and electronics teams on integration tasks.

The Battery Systems Engineer will have:

• Systems engineering background and understanding of the development lifecycle for a safety critical application.
• Automotive experience, including HV applications and ISO26262.
• Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink development.
• Experience of embedded control systems.
• Ability to take a hands-on, methodical, approach to testing, fault finding and commissioning of systems.
