A leader in electrified HGV technology is currently seeking a Lead Battery Charging System Development Engineer. This role involves charging system requirement development, specification generation, system design, verification, and validation.

  

The Lead Battery Charging System Development Engineer will:

  • Develop, implement, and validate appropriate high voltage charging system interfaces and subsystems.
  • Liaise directly with customers, suppliers, and Company staff at all levels to capture charging system requirements and satisfy Company‚Äôs technical and project delivery needs.
  • Participate in research and development of appropriate charging systems and power management strategies to meet vehicle requirements.
  • Develop systems from Proof of Concept to C sample and production as appropriate.
  • Support product sourcing, purchasing, and selection as required by the design process.
  • Participate in DFMEA processes (based on standards) and make sure tests that are identified as recommended actions are incorporated.
  • Use gathered data alongside subjective evaluation to identify parameter changes to drive the desired change in system and vehicle performance.
  • Lead the battery product validations for their area of the program and support technicians and trainee engineers.

  

  

The Lead Battery Charging System Development Engineer will have:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred in either Electronic or Electrical, Automotive or Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicle technologies, such as Batteries, Power Distribution Unit, Inverters, and eMotors, Vehicle powertrain, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Experience in automotive or other relevant HV systems design, development, and validation.
  • Experience with CAN, National Instruments Labview, and Data Loggers.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on Battery development role.
  • Understanding of legislation and standards.
  • An understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, working on HV vehicles
