Our client, a Midlands based battery cell research and manufacturing center is currently seeking a Senior Programme Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and on-budget to the high standards expected. A key secondary purpose is the clear communication & reporting on the status of all projects. The role is primarily focused on project delivery, but an important part of this requires pre-contract project and resource planning. 
 
The Senior Programme Coordinator will:
  • Support Business Development Manager (BDM) with high level WBS and project plan, ensuring project Technical Lead (TL) is aligned and milestones/content is agreed.
  • Create detailed delivery plan with the support of the Technical Lead, identifying core project team members.
  • Communicate and secure executive sign off for core project team resource with support of TL
  • Assist with delegation of tasks to core project team and ensure target delivery dates & milestones are bought into.
  • Report and identify project risk and need for escalation, working with TL & BDM on mitigation of critical path items or escalate where appropriate.
  • Create and lead the daily/weekly meeting drumbeat of project steering, both internally and externally, ensuring agendas are communicated and meetings are steered accordingly
  • Ensure processes are followed and projects meet compliance and audit requirements, enforcing robust governance across the project.
  • Assist customers with support of TL and BDM, ensuring clear information flow and project status is communicated daily.
  • Monitor project budget and forecast planning to facilitate project planning and decision-making.
 
The Senior Programme Coordinator will have:
  • Relevant degree obtained.
  • Ideally a background in engineering with previous experience in technical project delivery.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and advise a small team.
  • Ability to engage, liaise and steer cross functional relationships at all levels.
  • Great problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to learn and apply new skills.
