Our client, a leading organisation focusing on battery cell research and manufacturing in currently seeking a Process Engineer Cell Assembly. In this role the successful candidate will work alongside a small and growing team of Professional Engineers in new product development and industrialization of automotive batteries. As a process engineer, the successful candidate will support battery production activities of pilot and R&D cell manufacturing lines by supervising and improving manufacturing equipment and methods. Focus will be on the calendaring process for compaction of lithium-ion electrodes.
 
The Process Engineer Cell Assembly will:
  • Research, commission, and validate new equipment or modify existing equipment to prototype new electrode manufacturing methods and formats.
  • Analyse production to increase manufacturing uptime, availability, and reliability metrics-yield, OEE, cycle time, quality and investigate bottlenecks to identify root cause and countermeasure to maximize throughput.
  • Conduct a root cause analysis through process and equipment expertise, correlate with upstream/downstream processes.
  • Troubleshoot and recover processes by PLC, HMI, or tool management software, and implement changes/improvements.
  • Manage the documentation including machine and process specifications, drawings, BOM, spare parts, PFMEA, control plan, process flow chart.
  • Assist in all industrialization activities, providing guidance and instruction to electrode manufacturing process.
  • Collect, analyse, and summarize information and trends from technical reports and documentation.
The Process Engineer Cell Assembly will have:
  • BSc in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • Either a BS with 5+ years’ relevant experience or an MS in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast faced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing / Process Engineering fundamentals and methods.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environment from similar industry.
  • Strong communication, reporting and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to PLC Controls, data acquisition equipment and software.
