A leader in electrified HGV technology is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Manager to join their rapidly growing team! The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Operations Quality Assurance function on an on-going basis in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy and will ensure that the business is delivering the best products and services which will meet the customers’ expectations.
The Supplier Quality Assurance Manager will:
Contribute to the creation of the SQA team structure, its leadership and development.
Create and implement the best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
Work with the Design and Manufacturing engineering team to define process parameters and criteria which will ensure that the supplier process capability is effective and it’s achieving the product and process requirements.
Support Purchasing with the supplier approval process by assessing the manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
Carry out root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues followed by on-site supplier visits for the implementation of the analysis and the correction action of supplier quality issues.
Identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain by reviewing and evaluating the supplier quality data.
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA. (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Support the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA’s. (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
The Supplier Quality Assurance Manager will have:
Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
Proven experience in a supplier quality assurance manager or related role, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
Great communication skills with the ability to clearly present information to all levels of the company and with excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Capability of working on their own initiative and build collaborative relationships in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, self-motivated with a highly driven work ethic.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
Strong commercial acumen.
