A rapidly growing Automotive company that’s transforming traditional commercial vehicles to manufacture the next generation of revolutionary electric trucks is currently looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer. In this role you will lead the design, testing, and delivery of vehicle electrical and electronic components and sub-systems including eAxle electronics, energy management system, and others.


The Senior Electronics Engineer duties include:

  • Develop specifications, targets, and testing plans for electronic hardware/system(s)
  • Support in toolchain investment decision-making.
  • Lead electronic design and development of electronic hardware/system(s) including eAxle electronics, energy management electronics and other systems to the agreed requirements and processes, from concept level through to production.
  • Plan and action Design Verification (DV) and Production Validation (PV) activity at an eAxle and electronics sub-system component level.
  • Contribute to system, eAxle and electronic sub-system component-level safety case development, and follow industry-standard techniques to ensure a robust design, e.g. FMEA/FTA.
  • Develop component vendor selection and work with supply chain partners.
  • Complete end-to-end ownership from design, through manufacture, to test.
  • Hands-on initial prototype testing and debugging where required.
  • Conducting & Leading design reviews.


The Senior Electronics Engineer will have:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant Electronic Engineering or Science related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ demonstrable electronic design experience in an automotive or similar engineering environment.
  • IGBT and MOSFET Driver circuits
  • Knowledge of highly integrated multi-peripheral microcontrollers and system basis support circuits.
  • Experience with serial communication bus circuits I2C, SPI, and CANBus (Drivers)
  • Experience with ADCs, Signal conditioning.
  • Experience of Motor Inverter control techniques & technologies: Space Vector Modulation, Field oriented control, Semiconductor subsystems
  • Experience in interfacing with resolvers or other angular position reporting systems.
  • Strong background and knowledge of analogue and digital circuits and schematic capture and development.
  • Experience in designing ECUs in accordance with ISO16750 and ISO26262 Functional Safety processes and concepts (or equivalent OEM internal standards).
  • Experience with analogue simulation software.
  • Verifiable experience in eAxle or vehicle component electronic sub-system Specification; Requirements Capture/Management and DV and PV processes including alignment with the V Model product lifecycle
