A leader in electrified HGV technology is currently seeking a Production Associate. The purpose of this role is to be jointly responsible for the assembly and testing of trucks. More importantly, you’ll be part of the team responsible for making the manufacturing operation an example of world-class sustainable freight production.

 

The Production Associate duties:


  • Complete standard work processes and follow work instructions/procedures.
  • To learn a range of jobs and rotate where required.
  • Come up with ideas to improve production processes and work as part of a team to implement them.
  • Operate complex manufacturing equipment under supervision.
  • Escalate technical and process issues to the appropriate supervisors and support functions and work with them to find an effective resolution
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install vehicle parts of varying size and weight, accurately and in allotted time frames.
  • Need to be opened to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights.
  • Spending working hours on your feet and carrying out physical tasks.

 

The Successful Production Associate will have:

 

  • You will have demonstrated an enthusiasm and ability to learn new skills & adapt to new work environments.
  • You need to be comfortable learning new technology.
  • An ability to handle and manipulate tooling and tighten bolts with power tools within the required cycle time. Previous experience of working with hand tools or setting cycle times will be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Computer literacy is an advantage but is not essential.
  • IMI Electric Vehicle levels 3 & 4 qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented production or manufacturing environment, including having strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Standard working hours will be 39 hours per week, at times shorter or longer weeks will be required  (34 hours minimum and 44 hours maximum).


The shift pattern initially will be Monday to Thursday, 07:00-16:00, with 12:00 finish on Fridays, night shift work will also be required, for which you will receive 20%  night shift allowance.


Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to take up to 20 days of your annual leave to cover fixed plant shutdowns, dates of which will be provided to you by the end of January each year.
