A leader in electrified HGV technology is currently seeking an Assembly Operations Lead. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the core business unit and be part of a group of leaders who are responsible for running the entire assembly operation.

  

The Assembly Operations Lead duties:

  

  • Lead the manufacturing operations business as the “Beating Heart of the Plant”, ensuring the team achieve all deliverables required for the business.
  • Lead a passionate engaged & empowered culture through continuous development, innovation, learning, technical & operational excellence
  • Meet or exceed manufacturing cost-per-unit targets.
  • Nurture continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all teams through the implementation of the safety operating system.
  • Lead the manufacturing operating system to ensure embedded manufacturing processes provide quality vehicles with no faults forward, on time.
  • Lead the use of lean tools and principles to drive out waste and deliver productivity improvements.
  • Lead of internal start and end of shift meetings
  • Weekly report out against; Scorecard, Policy Deployment, Timing, 5S etc
  • Daily operational management of group leaders and associates to ensure targets are achieved
  • Lead generation of labour plans, capacity planning by week and management of absence cover

  

The successful Assembly Operations Lead will have:

  

  • Experience running a medium – high volume manufacturing assembly area (Preferably automotive).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills.
  • Technical ability –knowledge of technical assembly processes
  • A proven team leader who can form good working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven experience and commitment to the adoption and use of lean tools into everyday practice.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and coaching a diverse team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of ensuring Health and Safety of all stakeholders
  • Ideally degree qualified in manufacturing systems and/or technical/professional qualification
