A leader in electrified HGV technology is currently seeking a Head of Legal Services. responsible for assisting and providing guidance on corporate governance, negotiating and drafting contracts, risk management and the development of plans and policies.

Head of Legal Services Duties:

  • Managing and leading all members of the legal team
  • Providing accurate, relevant, and timely advice to the business, its leaders and other members of staff on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business sector and their products or services
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Conducting legal training for staff
  • Advising on the legal implications of company policies and procedures
  • Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business
  • Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company
  • Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors
  • Designing and delivering legal training to the business
  • Delivering strong negotiation, drafting skills and business/strategic sense to deal with multiple functional teams in a rapidly scaling business
  • Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect your business and specific industry
  • Liaising with senior members of staff. Assist Company Secretary with Corporate Governance, Board and shareholder advisory matters
  • Assist with maintaining Corporate Governance records and shareholder register
  • Deliver and own legal forecasting, budgeting and resource requirements.

The Successful Head of Legal Will Have:

  • qualified with in-house experience
  • Background working in a smaller business / start up / scale up
  • Experience in Automotive industry
  • Experience in international environments is highly beneficial
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • Comfortable dealing with hands-on legal activities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written) who can engage with people at all levels
  • Detailed focused and happy working in a fast-paced environment
