After significant investment, a world-renowned premium sports car manufacturer and engineering consultancy has announced a new Midlands Technical Centre to act as their global engineering headquarters. In line with this growth, the company are currently seeking an Body Electrical Systems Senior Engineer to support engineering activities across the business.

The Body Electrical Systems Senior Engineer Duties:

  • Development and validation of Vehicle Electrical & Electronics systems for Lotus products.
  • Create and own of System design, technical specifications and all engineering documentations including development timing plan.
  • Support other departments in RFQ process, Packaging Reviews, FMEAs, DVPs, Function Implementation Reviews and Technical Reviews etc
  • Define and maintain development and validation processes and to ensure delivery of electrical & electronic systems and components, including ECUs, softwares, sensors and actuators.
  • Investigate continuous improvement opportunities to improve the functional and technical performance, increase quality, and reduce weight, cost and time to market of Vehicle Electronics.
  • Coordinate development and validation work with the Technical Specialist for Architecture and Networks and Senior Engineer for Electrical Whole Vehicle and Validation.
  • Support diagnostics and problem solving activities on Vehicle Electronics topics.
  • Ensure the release of electrical and electronic parts in time and within specifications.
  • Ensure proper manufacturing and cost engineering assessment for electrical and electronic parts.
  • Ensure proper design validation through testing.
  • Support the Chief Engineer / Principal Engineer - EEI with development and validation activities as appropriate at department or vehicle level.

The Body Electrical Systems Senior Engineer Will Have:

  • Ability to challenge traditional approach through innovative thought process
  • Experience in delivering complex electrical & electronic systems to complete automotive product lifecycle.
  • Experience in working with complex Vehicle Electrical Architecture and Electrical Distribution System
  • Experience in managing suppliers and delivering systems on time within budget
  • Experience of using software download and diagnostic tools including vector tools
  • Experience of working within OEM New Production Introduction Process and milestone driven deliverables
