After significant investment, a world-renowned premium sports car manufacturer and engineering consultancy has announced a new Midlands Technical Centre to act as their global engineering headquarters. In line with this growth, the company are currently seeking an EEI EDS System Design Engineer to support engineering activities across the business.

The EEI EDS System Design Engineer Duties:

  • Capture and observe sub-systems functional requirements.
  • Check changes in the schematics in any System level are done accordingly.
  • Compare component on the Device database entries with schematics.
  • Conduct a Sub-systems review with affected parties or systems owner.
  • Correctly capture the terminal plating requirements stated in the Device database and have them reflected in the schematics.
  • Ensure all connector part numbers on the schematic are aligned with the Device database.
  • Ensure complexity option requirements specified in the Device database are captured correctly on the circuit diagrams.
  • Ensure specific grounding requirements are captured correctly on the circuit diagrams for relevant components.
  • Review the circuit codes/optioning and verified with the sub-systems requirements.
  • Understand the high-level process for generating logical/physical schematics.
  • Update the tracking documents for all components on the Device database regularly with details such as the build phase.
  • Verify the schematics against the design guidelines.
  • Verify the schematics from a pin to pin perspective including the signal name details.

The EEI EDS System Design Engineer Will Have:

  • Ability to challenge traditional approach through innovative thought process
  • Educated to degree level in a technical discipline covering Electrical & Electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of circuit design tools.
  • Experience of electrical distribution system development and electrical packaging - specifically circuit design and wiring/fusing systems.
  • Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc) is required.
  • Fully conversant with current and future industry developments in area of responsibility, while a keen interest in Motorsport engineering is seen as desirable.
