Britishvolt is Britain’s foremost investor in battery technologies. They are dedicated to supporting the future of electrified transportation and sustainable energy storage, producing world-leading lithium-ion battery technologies. Britishvolt are currently seeking a Project Launch Manager to act as the intermediary and technical contact between the customer, manufacturing team, and program management within a brand-new lithium-Ion battery gigaplant.
Project Launch Manager Duties:
Coordinating all Britishvolt activities to ensure program deliverables are met. This includes the formulation of product business and launch plans, managing quality expectations, tracking capital expenditure, tooling delivery, and ensuring the final product meets customer requirements.
Managing lithium-ion product development & validation.
Organising site APQP activities.
Conduct feasibility studies and assess company commitments for any new customer projects. This includes implementing methods of tracking for project deliverables, assessing production equipment requirements, ensuring that packaging specifications mean the product is delivered safely, developing specification sheets for quality, and performing capability studies.
Direct project budgeting and financial support including BOM creation, material costing and new process equipment requirement.
Create battery manufacturing schedules for customer projects alongside relevant departments and support product development.
The Successful Project Launch Manager will have:
A minimum Bachelors’ level degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related STEM subject. A Masters qualification is also highly desirable.
Significant prior experience managing product launches within a high-volume manufacturing environment – specific Automotive / Lithium-Ion Battery experience is highly desirable.
Prior work experience creating and managing project schedules to present to customers preferably using a GANTT format.
Demonstrable experience in using APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis.
A strong working knowledge of relevant quality standards.
