Echion Technologies Ltd is a leading British technology company and battery material developer that specialises in producing advanced lithium-ion battery materials.
The company was co-founded in 2017 by Dr Jean De La Verpilliere and Dr Alex Groombridge, former PhD students from the University of Cambridge, who invented a novel process to synthesise high-performance battery materials.

The business model is to supply XNO® anode active material to cell manufacturers. They plan to reach 2,000 tonne/year production capacity by 2024.
In addition to this, they supply low volumes of demonstrator cells to Tier 1s and OEMs for evaluation, before connecting them with their network of cell manufacturers.
