EVera Recruitment Information Pack for Aston Martin

About Aston Martin

Aston Martin is known for producing high-performance sports cars with iconic designs and racing heritage, with beautifully engineered V8 and V12 engines – but all of that is about to change.

Aston Martin has undergone significant changes with new ownership and leadership and is now expanding its product line-up with the addition of new fully-electrified models. From 2026 onwards all new models will be EV’s.

To facilitate this, Aston is building a brand new electrification team with literally hundreds of new jobs. This is the next generation of Aston and your chance to be part of it.

Company size

As of January 2023, Aston Martin employed around 2,600 full-time members of staff globally. However, with the inherent shift towards electrification, Aston Martin has secured new funding to dramatically grow their new electrification division by several hundred by 2026.

Fun Fact: Every single permanent member of staff who has ever been employed by Aston Martin has their name added to the wall pictured below. This is within the Gaydon and St Athan manufacturing facility. The wall was created to represent the unique contribution of every employee who has ever worked at Aston Martin.

Future Growth

Aston Martin plans to sell only electric or hybrid cars by 2027, phasing out vehicles that rely solely on the internal combustion engine.

Lawrence Stroll, chair of the luxury carmaker, said the group was “on a journey” and moving “at the pace our customers want" with plans to launch plug-in hybrid models in two years and fully electric models by the middle of the decade.

“By 2026 we will be fully electrified,” he told the Financial Times, although customers will still have the option of a combustion engine in its hybrid cars.

Company Culture

Working at Aston Martin is a unique and exciting experience. The company culture is centred around a shared passion for designing and crafting some of the most beautiful and powerful cars in the world. This passion is evident in every aspect of the company, from the way teams collaborate and innovate, to the attention to detail that is given to each car produced. As an employee, you will be surrounded by highly skilled and motivated individuals who share a common goal of excellence.

What its like to work there

Aston Martin is a relatively small car manufacturer compared to some of its competitors, which means that employees may have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and be involved in multiple areas of the business. Because of this, Aston Martin are able to offer a dynamic and varied work environment where employees are constantly challenged and engaged.

Aston Martin has a strong focus on design, engineering, and craftsmanship, which means that employees are highly skilled and specialised in their roles. The company values employees who are detail-oriented, innovative, and willing to take risks.

Overall, working at Aston Martin is likely to be challenging, exciting, and rewarding, with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Location

Aston Martin's global headquarters and GT production facility is in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England. The site covers an area of around 90 acres and houses a range of facilities dedicated to the production of Aston Martin's GT vehicles.

At St Athan in Wales there is a purpose built manufacturing facility which opened in 2018 to produce the Aston Martin SUV, the DBX. There you will also find a dedicated paint shop where the cars are painted and finished to the highest possible standards. This paint shop is recognised as one of the best in the world.

The production facility in Gaydon is a modern and highly automated facility, with advanced robotics and manufacturing technologies used throughout the production process. However, there is still a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and attention to detail, with many parts of the production process still carried out by skilled craftsmen and women.

The facility also houses Aston Martin's research and development centre, where the company's engineers and designers work on developing new models and improving existing ones. The centre includes state-of-the-art testing facilities and engineering labs, as well as a design studio where new models are created.
