At EVera Recruitment, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Our work with GreenTheUK perfectly reflects EVera’s values and commitment to building a greener future — including our pledge to plant a tree for every placement we make.
As part of this commitment, we have supported the planting of 1,000 climate-resilient trees across the UK in 2024–25, in partnership with GreenTheUK and the Royal Forestry Society (RFS). This initiative helps protect biodiversity, tackle climate change, and strengthen the long-term health of UK woodlands.
The RFS brings over 140 years of forestry expertise, working with GreenTheUK’s community-driven approach to ensure every tree is planted in the right place and cared for long-term. It’s not just about numbers — it’s about planting with purpose.
Many of our native trees are increasingly vulnerable to pests, diseases, and extreme weather. By planting a broader mix of native and non-native species, we help create more resilient woodlands and maintain habitats for wildlife. Encouragingly, species like red squirrels have already adapted to non-native conifer woodlands thanks to the food supply their cones provide.
According to Forestry Statistics 2024, the UK’s woodland cover now stands at 13.5%, with over 20,000 hectares added in 2023/24 — progress toward the government’s target of 30,000 hectares annually. With the support of businesses like EVera Recruitment, this positive growth can continue.
Woodlands are vital in the fight against climate change — storing carbon, reducing flood risk, stabilising soil, and supporting diverse ecosystems. Yet, the UK remains one of the world’s largest importers of wood, highlighting the importance of responsible, UK-based tree planting.
Through expert-led projects like this, EVera is proud to contribute to a healthier planet and a more resilient future for generations to come.
