EVera Recruitment Information Pack for Talos Technology

About Talos Technology

Talos Technology is a British powertrain engineering company based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, founded in 2018 by engineers from motorsport, automotive and aerospace. The company designs electric and hybrid powertrains, and has developed its own Dual Flux motor architecture, a breakthrough topology that cuts rare earth magnet content by 80-100% with no compromise on performance.

Talos operates across four integrated disciplines: dual flux electric machines, hybrid powertrain integration, the in-house NeurotorQ design software platform, and real-time motor controls proven in motorsport and aerospace duty cycles.

What They Build

  • Electric vehicles: high-efficiency motors for range and performance across passenger and commercial platforms.
  • Electric motorcycles: compact, lightweight, high-output systems engineered for power, control and ride feel.
  • Robotics: precision actuation for advanced motion and dexterous control.
  • Drone systems: motors optimised for endurance, weight and flight performance.

Talos Technology's Mission

"Our mission is to build powertrains where performance, strength and intelligence work as one. We have partnerships across automotive, motorsport and aerospace." - Manos Polioudis (Co-Founder)

Momentum

  • 2019: secured first commercial contract in the electric aerospace (eVTOL) sector.
  • 2020: selected to turnkey-design the first electronically excited synchronous machine (EESM) for a major Tier 1 automotive supplier.
  • 2023: opened the Talos Tech Center in Banbury for prototype development and testing, and launched Innovate UK project Hipermod to develop the in-house Dual Flux motor technology.
  • 2024: awarded a contract to integrate its proprietary motor technology with a major OEM.
  • 2025-26: strategic refocus onto technology and product development, with the QRM-2 dual-flux demonstrator now bench-tested at 96.2% peak system efficiency and 20,000rpm max operating speed.

Culture & Working Environment

Talos runs a small, tight-knit team of dedicated, hands-on engineers. The current site is compact, but it's stocked with top-of-range equipment.

The plan is to relocate the company in the near future to somewhere nearby that'll offer the room they need to expand.

Why join Talos

It's a small team, so the work doesn't come pigeon-holed. You're not slotted into a narrow slice of a bigger machine; you get real reach across the discipline, and a direct hand in a niche product with genuine scale-up potential.

Whoever joins now gets more than equity in the company. They get the chance to help mould it as it grows.
