Cambridge-based spinout from the University of Cambridge, specialising in next-generation lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries.

Founded in 2024, the company uses innovative cathode technology based on molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) to stabilise sulfur, enabling sustainable, high-energy-density batteries with improved cycle life. Molyon's solutions are ideal for drones, robotics, and potentially electric vehicles. Backed by €4.3 million in funding from IQ Capital and Plural, Molyon is scaling operations and expanding its team to develop its Cambridge pilot facility. The company aims to provide a sustainable alternative to traditional lithium-ion batteries using earth-abundant materials.
