Head of Strategic Energy

Our client is seeking a Head of Strategic Energy to join their Senior Management Team. This is a key leadership role, driving consultancy growth while guiding clients through the evolving energy landscape. You'll combine technical expertise with commercial insight, delivering strategies on decarbonisation, net-zero, renewables, and energy infrastructure.

The Head of Strategic Energy will:

• Lead and develop client relationships, delivering tailored strategies and solutions.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
• Motivate, mentor, and grow a talented team in a collaborative environment.
• Build analytical models to assess energy demand, supply, and decarbonisation pathways.
• Produce high-quality reports, from detailed feasibility studies to clear executive summaries.
• Drive business development, identifying opportunities and expanding the client base.
• Manage commercial aspects of the team, including budgets and P&L.

The Head of Strategic Energy will have:

• Degree in a STEM subject (Master's in Energy/Sustainability desirable).
• Chartered Engineer and Member of the Energy Institute (or equivalent).
• Proven experience delivering strategic consultancy projects within the energy sector.
• Strong modelling skills in Excel (economic, financial, and business models).
• Good cross-disciplinary knowledge - electricity, surveying, MEP, and building.
• Strong knowledge of the UK energy landscape, policy, and decarbonisation agendas.
• Expertise in energy strategies, renewable/low-carbon technologies, and net-zero development.
