Senior Mechanical Test Engineer (Battery)

We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer for our client, an award-winning battery technology company solving one of our generation’s most significant challenges: industrial electrification.  

The Senior Mechanical Test Engineer will:

• Manage test data generated from battery power, thermal & environmental testing.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of testing processes and teams to understand product specifications
• Manage core data architecture – ensure engineering and field test data is accessible and up to date.
• Work with telematics systems to identify machine learning/AI opportunities for future development.
• Develop comprehensive test plans for battery systems, considering performance, reliability, safety, and compliance requirements.

The Senior Mechanical Test Engineer will have:

• 5+ years’ experience working in mixed background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering/ Physics and Computer Data Science or related field.
• Proficient with database design/management tools.
• Familiar & comfortable with applied maths, statistics, probability & machine learning techniques.
• Proven experience in battery technology testing, with a focus on lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems would be advantageous.
• Proficient with data science programming languages e.g. Python/R.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
