We are currently hiring a HV Systems Principal Engineer for our client, a leader in engineering and digital services provided for the global manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for HV System Engineering within Powertrain Electronics Integration projects domain in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Centre of Excellence within Engineering, Research and Development. 

 

The HV Systems Principal Engineer will:

  • Provide leadership and coordination for HV ePWT Power Electronics and Electrical System Integration projects within the Electrical Engineering (EE) Department.
  • Ensure robust system engineering approach and ensure implementation of standard product development norms DFMEA, DFA, DFM, Campaign Prevention Process, Robustness.
  • Validate that all systems/products are compliant to the engineering requirement deck and full traceability is taken through to DVP and fully documented DVPR and Gateway processes. This will involve detailed knowledge of Charging System Standards, validation methods and understanding of power electronics lifetime and functional testing, understanding of system testing of the charging sub-system (on Labcar/vehicle etc.).
  • Support global discussions regarding system architecture, SFMEA and management of late change introduction to ensure the system implementation has the lowest impact to programme delivery.
  • Support failure analysis for vehicle testing and supplier DVP failure analyses/8D to ensure a robust root cause analysis process and corrective action planning.

 

The HV Systems Principal Engineer will have:

  • Ability to demonstrate best working practices and be able to deliver clear written and verbal processes and standards.
  • Experience in design and development within the automotive Electrical and Power Electronics systems sector, although other areas of relevant technology development may also be considered.
  • Degree in engineering or related technical discipline, and preferably with a higher qualification, (Master’s Degree or equivalent).
  • Strong track record of delivering significant high value business and delivering to very tight timescales.
  • Relevant automotive industry experience, preferably within OEM, Tier 1 or consultancy business.
