Design and Release Engineer - Infotainment

A Hybrid / EV System Integration company specialising in the specification, design, integration and validation of low carbon powertrain systems is currently looking for a Design and Release Engineer – Body Electronics. The successful candidate will develop Infotainment systems such as Head Unit, Displays, Cameras, Antennas, Parking Distance assist integration to Displays.

The Design and Release Engineer – Body Electronics will be responsible for:

• Analysis of quality & warranty data from various sources such as Analytical Warranty System (AWS), Durability testing, customer feedback and dealer communications
• Perform root cause analysis, including testing where required, to identify cause & resolutions for field issues, and to validate the effectiveness of corrective actions
• Work with component/system owners, suppliers, manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions for identified issues.
• Manage implementation of process, software and hardware changes to improve product build efficiency, adapt to supply base changes and keep afloat of latest development
• Develop Infotainment systems such as Head Unit, Displays, Cameras, Antennas, Parking Distance assist integration to Displays.
• Support effective root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions are implemented for quality issues.

The Design and Release Engineer – Body Electronics. will have:

• 3 years of experience in automotive EE systems / component engineering, development & testing.
• Direct experience of vehicle Infotainment Systems in an OEM/Tier 1 environment
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent professional accreditation) in a relevant engineering discipline
• Familiarity with automotive (OEM) specifications and standards including manufacturing processes.
• Able to create system architecture, manage features implementation with Electrical Architect and Supplier
• Able to test and validate the system features on various platform such as rigs, lab-car, vehicle.
• Able to create System and component technical specifications and DVPs
• Knowledge of Vector Canoe / Canalyser; Analysis of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS communication busses.
• Good working knowledge of all low-voltage electrical systems within a vehicle platform
• Wider Cockpit Electronics system and integration knowledge would be advantageous
