An automotive design consultancy specialising in low-carbon vehicle engineering and technology are currently seeking a EV Control Systems Lead Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing control software & simulation models, as well as creative problem solving, and testing required to ensure they function as intended.

EV Control Systems Lead will:

• Be responsible for the design, implementation, and test (utilizing MIL / SIL / in-vehicle validation) of automotive control software using a model-based development approach and support the transition to clients.
• Design, implement and correlate BEV & HEV component and vehicle models for component sizing and performance analysis.
• Support prototype vehicle builds and development by acting as a first point of contact for control systems related queries.
• Write relevant specifications, requirements, test plans and report progress to relevant stakeholders.

EV Control Systems Lead Engineer will have:

• A minimum of a degree level or similar qualification in engineering is essential. A Masters or Doctorate level qualification is also highly desirable.
• 10 years industry experience within an automotive Control Systems Engineering role – previous design consultancy experience is also highly desirable.
• Previous experience working on Battery electric vehicle / Hybrid electric vehicle projects writing system and software specifications, requirements & test documents.
• Ideally sound experience with any of the rapid prototyping controllers (dSPACE, Motohawk,
• Raptor, Pi Innovo, etc.)
• Experience with software version control tools, requirements management, software change
• request (SCR) management and electrical debugging.
• Experienced user of MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow for embedded control system design and
• validation, along with a familiarity with CCP & CAN based tools, e.g. INCA / CANape and CANalyzer.
