Our client, an expert in technology and zero-emission transport is looking for a Production Purchasing Buyer who will be able to join their rapidly growing team! The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the procurement department along with key stakeholders and the vehicle engineering team. This exciting role will cover all aspects of automotive procurement, from supplier selection, prototype parts purchasing through to production intent sourcing and ongoing supplier management. As a unique opportunity, this will offer the Production Purchasing Buyer the chance of being a part of an embryonic team which will provide a breadth of commodity responsibility not normally seen in the automotive industry.

  

The Development Partner and Internal Fleet Manager will

  • Support in the day-to-day management of a purchasing profile with focus on continuous improvement within purchasing.
  • Ensure the best deals and opportunities for the company by coordinating research on potential products, vendors, and services while also focusing on meeting vendors to conduct negotiations.
  • Manage inventory, write stock orders, liaise with delivery, and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time.
  • Write reports on purchases and performing assist with cost analysis.
  • Ensure that Purchase Order System is accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the business, manage the purchasing of materials to match the inventory targets.
  • Assist with regular re-negotiations of terms of business/service agreements and performance evaluation with suppliers, taking corrective action as required.
  • Check and authorize designated invoices for stock, packaging, and carriage items.
  • Manage of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  

The Development Partner and Internal Fleet Manager will have:

  • Degree qualified or have equivalent working experience.
  • Experience with supporting the contract management negotiations and manage the end-to-end procurement process of RFI, RFQ, comparative analysis, supplier selection and order creation across the range of vehicle systems.
  • Capability to work through strategic sourcing requirements that meet the demanding technical and timing requirements.
  • Great level of communication and ability to create relations within the company as well as externally, with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Resilient and enthusiastic individual who responds constructively to new ideas and inputs with the capability to work independently where required to develop and deliver operational plans in a fast-moving environment.
  • Logical and analytical thinking with the ability to explain and/or simplify complex technical/regulatory information and compliance strategies. Strong leadership skills with the ability of coaching and mentoring less experienced members of the procurement team.
  • Confident with working in a diverse and fast-paced environment, positive and motivated attitude with high work ethics.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and build collaborative relationships and with excellent organisational and prioritization skills.
