We have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Controller who will join a rapidly expanding organisation specializing in low-carbon vehicle engineering and technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Software Configuration Control and/or Bill of Materials, supporting change management systems across projects. The Configuration Controller will be involved in all stages of the design and development process, from prototyping through to production liaising directly with the engineering teams and project management.

The Configuration Controller will:
  • Manage the software deliveries with suppliers and system engineers and will oversee software releases and documentation to an acceptable standard.
  • Document software feature/function maturity at agreed implementation points across electronic systems within a vehicle application.
  • Produce software delivery plans based on customer expectations and supplier release plan.
  • Generate Bills of Materials and associated release tracking reports.
  • Accept Engineering Release notices and interpret relevant data to update BOMs with respect to added items, deleted items, quantity changes, corrections, and effective dates.
  • Track, manage and maintain BOM’s for systems and assemblies. Manage Creation Of works orders from BOMs as required.
  • Ensure project BOM documentation is correctly managed, maintained and released in line with company BMS processes and standards.
  • Promote Environmental Health & Safety awareness and ensure Environmental Health & Safety policy is always adhered to.
The Configuration Controller will have:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Proven Experience in software configuration control release management.
  • Previous experience in automotive BOM control.
  • Great skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize project workloads, schedules, and tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to take the lead, take on roles, responsibilities and challenges required to achieve company goals and objectives.
