A rapidly growing Automotive company that’s transforming traditional commercial vehicles to manufacture the next generation of revolutionary electric trucks is currently looking to recruit an Energy Systems Engineer. This role will be involved in the specification, design, engineering & delivery, from concept to series-development the Electrified Vehicle Control System.

  

The Energy Systems Engineer duties include:

  • Define functional requirements for Electrified Vehicle Control System, documenting these requirements, and ensuring delivery on time, on cost and on budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure plans align and support the delivery of supporting software and hardware.
  • Generate digital traceability, working alongside the functional safety team, to ensure all functionality is delivered against associated safety goals.
  • Develop FMEAs and test specifications within MiL and / or SiL environments, carrying out tests where required.
  • Using advanced algorithms, develop and implement the new control strategy in MATLAB / Simulink.

  

The Energy Systems Engineer will have:

  • A minimum of a degree level qualification within an engineering discipline. An MSc or Doctorate level qualification is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in an automotive role involving control algorithm design and development within MATLAB / Simulink and C++ for algorithm design.
  • Experience using vehicle data logging, calibration, data analysis tools such as INCA and automotive communication protocols (especially CAN, J1939 etc.).
  • Automotive functional safety knowledge (ISO 26262).
  • Experienced in leading FMEA activities (Systems) and a strong understanding of AUTOSAR.
  • Experience working on hybrid or electric vehicle subsystems and components e.g. battery systems, inverters, DC/DC converters etc.
  • Experience in compliance engineering to electric vehicle regulations and external standards.
